A home inventory will help you estimate the value and replacement cost of those items you own to assure that you have the appropriate home owner / renters insurance coverage. This becomes a comprehensive list of what needs to be replaced if all were lost in a disaster.

If you are limited on time, make a video recording or take photos of all your items. List those items that have the most value including the brand, model, serial numbers, purchase dates and prices whenever possible.
